In July 2007, Food For Thought became the owner of an antique store south of Sebastopol on Gravenstein Hwy South. In a true example of a gift that keeps on giving, the store was an estate gift from food bank supporter Randall Thompson, who bequeathed it to us in his will. Formerly called “Collective Spaces,” the store was renamed “Food For Thought Antiques.”

Unique among the tag and thrift stores operated by some nonprofit agencies, Food for Thought Antiques is committed to selling quality antique and vintage items. It is the perfect place to shop for your home and gifts as well a great outlet for donations and estate liquidations. You can drop off donations any time during store hours.

The store also sells items on consignment, and all items must be pre-approved by store Curator Allen Chivens. If you have items you would like to consign, e-mail photos to Allen. There are several factors that are considered when taking items on consignment—their value (must exceed $100), their saleability, current inventory and space in the store.

In addition to donated and consigned items, the store has seven different dealers with a variety of vintage goods.

Food For Thought Antiques is open daily from 11 am to 5 pm. It is located at the corner of Gravenstein Hwy. South and Old Gravenstein Hwy., about 2.5 miles south of the center of town.
